Perhaps one of the most difficult things to learn when you start out playing poker is what decision to make. You don’t have a lot of time to make up your mind and especially in the beginning, when you are trying to process all the information. Pressure can also make you do some real crazy, stupid things, that you look back on and think, why did I do that?
The best advice I can give is to get out there and play as much poker as you can, that way you will know what to do in given situations and your decision making will improve. Or, go and play at the slot machines… if you can’t take the pace…
It also helps to take in as much information as you can and process it quickly. Poker has taught me to make a decision quickly, even though I have very little information to work with. How often in life do you hear people say, “I didn’t do it because I didn’t know enough”? I reckon just do it… get out there and get on with it… don’t procrastinate because you are trying to find out everything before making a decision!
Sometimes we make the wrong decisions – so what?

If you are looking to forward make it big by playing poker then a proper strategy and approach can definitely help you in achieving your goal. The first and the foremost thing required to win poker is persistence. It is very rightly said that poker is not a mere game; it is more of a championship league where a stronger player tries to push the weaker player off the cliff.
One should always have pre-planned strategies in his head so that the results do not turn out to be shocking. After every deal one must be quick enough to formulate 5 to 6 plans for the game thus enhancing flexibility. As a player if you are able to read the expressions of your opponents then you can easily win over them. A good player always has the capability to exhibit minimum emotions during the game and at the same time he can always find what is going through the opponents mind to modify his game play accordingly.

What is EV and how can you use it to your advantage? EV is an analytical tool, a way of looking at poker, which ideally will standardize your good decisions and help you identify and correct mistakes. Simply put: it’s smart bankroll management - if you think of everything in terms of EV, you are going a long way towards playing mathematically sound poker.
The Science of EV
EV refers to expected value, and it means how much you can expect to win over your lifetime with each play you make. For example, a play that has +$3 of EV means that if you make that play every time, you can expect to win $3 per play over your poker career. This doesn’t mean you’ll win $3 every time you make it, in fact, you will probably never win exactly $3. It is just a long-term calculation. Similarly, a -$3 EV play means that you will lose an average of $3 every time you make this play over your poker career.
Using EV in Practice
Often, it is enough to simply know that a play is +EV or –EV. If you make more +EV plays than –EV plays over the course of your career, provided that the value amounts of the plays are relatively uniform, you will be a winning player. Of course, if you make one -$100 EV play for every 10 +$5 EV plays you make, you will be a losing player, and have a drastic leak in your game that you need to correct.
Calculating EV
Calculating EV is often a matter of understanding your equity in a pot vs. the amount you invest to win that pot. Your percentage chance to win a pot represents how much the pot is worth to you, so if you are investing less than the pots are worth to you, you are making +EV plays. Sometimes you will have to make a rough estimate of EV. If you determine a play is +EV it is safe to make it, no matter how positive it is. Conversely, a –EV play should never be made, unless you have calculated out that it will lead directly to more +EV plays later in the session, in which case it is not really a –EV play at all.

LOL. That Tara Rice chick has to be the most irritating piece of tv-presenter EVER, but the tournament does look like fun.
“Some of the nations top models who have appeared in national publications such as Playboy Stuff Maxim FHM and more converge in Reno Nevada for the annual Supermodels of Black Jack Tournament- includes a bikini contest”
It’s basicly a poor video, but I wouldn’t mind being part of that party.

For the online Poker providers and online Casino providers there is a huge difference between Players who play Poker online and Players who play in online casinos.
First of all the difference between a Poker Player and a Casino Player is the Gamble. Poker is not really a gamble game because it has a lot of math inside the game.
Players who play in Casinos online only do it for the thrill of the gamble. This is why the provider has to offer a completely different online casino bounus and online poker bonus. The structure of these bonuses are that far apart that we should take a look at them. The main difference is that if players win in a Casino en Ligne they win from the casino. If Poker players win they win from the other online poker players and the poker room will take the poker rake. The beste online casino is the Casino that gives the most back to his players. Most Casinos online have a give back percentage of 96%-97% but if you look good there are Casinos that give back a percentage of 98%. The most landbased casinos have a percentage of 80-90 s that is much less. In the online poker rooms you can ask for rake back. In Poker online Rakeback is very usefull for the player because he gets a part of his money back. So if you look for Casino on-line and Poker rooms online make sure you choose the right one.

I’ve been playing Baccarat & Punto Banco for quite a few years now and I’ve actually been able to maintain a positive record for a long time, but over the course of the past couple weeks I’ve completely slipped and managed to lose about seven thousand dollars on the baccarat tables in close to no time…
I’ve decided to take a break from baccarat and focus on my poker which has been going extremely well, mostly playing online on various online poker sites…
We’ll see where things end, and I’ll obviously keep you posted!
